European Athletics Championships in Barcelona

Get in the running. Next year will see Barcelona host the 20th European Athletics Championships. The event runs from July 26th to August 1st, and even the least sporty can take part by working as a volunteer. The chocolate museum in Barcelona

This small, unique Museum portrays the history of chocolate complete with sculptures such as a huge chocolate carriage with horses.  You can watch pastry makers at work in the Barcelona Patisseria School across the courtyard.  The friendly staff in the café/store will give you advice on which chocolate goes best with champagne.  Of course, candy is available from chocolate covered almonds that look like rocks to lollypops with burros.  Or make up a gift basket stocked with chocolate and orange marmalade and even chocolate wine.

Things to do in Barcelona: Diving with sharks

For qualified divers there is a special sharks course in the Aquarium of Barcelona. On Wednesdays and during the weekends you can learn more about sharks and take a dive in the Oceonarium.

It´s from 9:30 am till around 2pm, cost €300,- and includes the following:

-  theoretical class about sharks

- dive in the Oceonarium
