The brands history leads back to 1981, when a 20-year-old Swiss designer called Thomas Meyer spent his summers making T-shirts in Ibiza. He had opened a second hand shop by the port which brought a lot of tourist in contact with the brand and made it already back then known internationally. One season, Thomas Meyer had a lot of jeans left over and used them to create jackets. People started to buy them and take them back home all over Europe. After two successful seasons the collection was named Desigual in 1984, using a mould-breaking logo with two naked figures and the slogan “Desigual is not the same” created by the Spanish film director Isabel Coixet. She was working in advertising at the time and was a friend of the founder. The current logo with the inverted “s” is by designer Frederick Thomas.
The brand is about spontaneity, positive feeling and unconventional creation. It’s closely linked to an unstructured approach to life and seeing things from a new angle, hence the inversion of the “s”. The designs break with convention and try to show the bright side to life. The head office and logisitcs centre is now based in Barcelona. Thomas Meyer is still the driving force and heads up the creative team.
See Desiguals website for more details and impressions of the latest collection.

Camper is the living history of a family business who, for more than a century and four generations, have dedicated their work to the shoe industry.
In 1877, Antonio Fluxà, a craftsman shoemaker, went England to find out about new methods of industrial manufacturing.
His son Lorenzo Fluxà was born into a shoe factory. He inherited from his father his taste and enthusiasm for this small object, always in pairs, that connects us to the ground. He continued the tradition.
The historical and social changes that occurred in Spain during the 70’s were reflected in a new way of life. New styles, new concepts. With the solid support of a century-old tradition, Lorenzo Fluxà, Antonio’s grandson, created Camper in 1975.
In 1981, the first Camper store was opened in Barcelona. A concept that revolutionized the world of traditional shoemaking. Today, Camper is the senior company in the sector in Spain.
If you want your own pair of Camper shoes come to Barcelona and try them!
For a place to sleep after a long day walking around in Barcelona you can book a comfortable apartment in the city centre of Barcelona.
