Organic whole wheat bread Barcelona centre Ramblas “Reykjavik” shop

BarcelonaReykiavik bakkery shop
Carrer doctor Dou 12 (street in between the Ramblas and the Macba)
Barcelona
Ph : 93 302 09 21
Website Barcelonareykjavik

Second shop in the Gracia area
carrer Asturies 20

If you are used to eat good whole meal bread, you might be fed up after a few days with the white industrial breads (there are very few real bakery in Barcelona )! Go to BarcelonaReykjavik shop.

2 steps from the Rambla and the Macba, on carrer Doctor Dou N°12  you can buy real good bread.
Gudrun from Reykjavik (Iceland) started baking her own bread in Barcelona; with David (from Barcelona), they decided to share the treat with the rest of the city. The bakery is behind the shop. Everything is very clean, white, fresh.

They use mostly stone ground spelt wheat from Asturias, bread is naturally leavened for a minimum of 8 hours….. As well as their heavenly breads they also have delicious sweet and salty bakes but they avoid using milk products or sugar, instead they use olive oil and syrups. They only use organic and biodynamic ingredients.

No one employed in the bakery is a baker; everyone who comes to work there will start without any preconceived ideas of what bread should be. David says everyone will be, on rotation, making bread and serving behind the counter so that they really understand the product they are selling.

They sell different kind of bread : with sesame seeds, with onions ….

Price is quite high but worth the quality !

At lunch, you can also buy a bowl of cooked hot organic vegetables with 2 pieces of bread or pizza.

For your stay in Barcelona, you can hire an apartment near the Ramblas

In the same street, on the other side of this bakery there is an organic supermarket.
