Oviso is a friendly, bohemian cafe-bar in the Gothic quarter, just off Carrer de Ferran.  Its located on Plaza George Orwell, amongst the locals known as “Plaza Trippy”. Inside the walls are covered with colorful paintings of peacocks, animals, mythical creatures etc.  and there is a large terrace on Plaza George Orwell where you can enjoy your drink anlongside writers and artists – writing and drawing, no less – during your stay.

Food is reasonably priced (eg soup and a main – the ‘combi of the day’ – for 6 euros).

Oviso is the best place to spend an afternoon, without spending a packet. Everything on the menu is lush, savoury crepes and chicken salad and a beer is 1.50 Euro. Staff and clientele friendly, willing to share a table if it gets busy.

You can visit the famous Dalis theatre museum constructed by Dali himself. It is a very nice and interesting museum. A funny museum too, nice to visit with children ! There is also a small jewelry museum on side of the big one. You can admire beautiful jewels created by Dali.

If you want to eat in a typical restaurant in the centre of Figueras, go and eat at “LOU d’OR” . This family run restaurant has a lunch menu at 10 euros ! and it is worth it … delicious kitchen. You can choose among 4 different starters and 4 plates. For desert you can choose in the desert buffet.
There is even a big terrace on the back side of the restaurant.

Restaurant « El Jardi » , resto with terrace in the shadow of the garden from the Catalan Library. Very nice and quiet place. Orange trees in the garden, with oranges in the winter and flowers in the summer.

“Ideal Collserola” is a restaurant on the hill near the Collseral natural park. This restaurant is located among the pines of the natural resort ! you can sit outside on the terrace and look at the pine trees, at sheeps walking around !

You can eat small plates, pizzas, salads, mediteranean food …. 

You can get there with the train (Sabadell) from the Plaza Catalunya to Peu de Funicular and then, the cable car to Vallvidrera (one ticket for the train and the cable car ). It takes 25 minutes to get to Vallvidrera.
Watch out ! ! ! In the train from the Plaza Catalunya, sit in the middle of the train otherwise you will not be able to get out of the train at Peu de Funicular

Then you can walk to this restaurant (15 min walks through Vallvidrera and a pathwalk).

What are you looking for in a restaurant ? fresh food first of all isn’t it ?

Enjoy eating fresh seafood, just from the harbour …  and also country food like spanish cheese and ham, solemillo meat … The ham comes from one of their farm in the Salamanca area, at 800 m of altitude.

Go to this big typical spanish restaurant in the Barceloneta area, the “SALAMANCA” …

After having been in Barcelona more than 10 times, it is the first time I ate such a good Paëlla !

As starter, we asked for Berberechos clams and we got such a big plate of sooooooo fresh clams that it was a real pleasure to eat them …

We did not want a desert but they gave us a glass of typical alcohol (with the bottle )  and some pieces of cakes for free !

We went there a few times but last time we went in this Salamanca it was not FRESH and the service was annoying.

And it is not very expensive… 2007   10,85 € / p for a Paëlla

There are 4 or 5 different dining rooms, each one has the name of a spanish area : Galicia, Andalucia, Catalunya….

Many waiters care for a fast and good service. Linnen white table clothes. Very clean.

Located on the nice and charming ”Placa Prim” in the Poble Nou area, the restaurant Els Pescadors (it means the fischermen) is a good place to eat out of city centre.

At the end of the Nineteenth Century, Prim Square (Plaza Prim) in Spanish, was a meeting place in the old part of Poblenou. The fishermen, some countryfolk and workers from the factories lived there. It was also the departure point for the “Icarianos”-utopian socialists- in the search of the promised land in far away America.

There is a terrace on the place itself. Place with nice big old trees. Amazing quiet place in an area with high buildings !

Go and see this lovely “Ra” restaurant behind the boqueria market, 2 steps from the Rambla. Very sunny terrace especially in the winter morning. you can eat there with a t-shirt !
