Apartment + Winter + Barcelona = Best formula

Published by admin under Barcelona Accomodations

04-room01.jpg02-salon02.jpg01-salon01.jpg Barcelona is a trendy city with a great aspect implying many things to do in the metropolitan city. It is possible to have a cultural walk, listen to great music at a great place, being a tourist, or simply enjoying the sun while walking down the street. In fact, it offers a huge variety of artistic events, street activities, an intense nightlife and an international atmosphere. Renting an apartment in

Barcelona clearly facilitates the trip since it enables some kind of freedom about meal time compared to a classical hotel. Obviously, it is much more pleasant during winter than during summer. Could you walk a few hours under the shining sun with an air temperature of about 30°C? It easier during winter, a small sweater is well enough, and if you are too hot, just take it off… Moreover, its geographical situation enables to easily access to coast beaches and to ski in the

Pyrenees. What a dream! Additionally, streets are not as crowded as during summer which is another benefit of visiting

Barcelona during winter.

Leonardo da Vinci- exhibition of his works in Barcelona

Published by admin under Events

The Mona Lisa was one of his most famous, most reproduced and most imitated painting of all time. We are talking about Leonardo da Vinci, the genius, from which the name of the exhibition “Leonardo genio curioso”  that will be undertaken until the beginning of september in the Museum Maritim derives. His paintings are famous for a variety of qualities which have been much imitated by students and discussed at great length by connoisseurs and critics. Among the qualities that make Leonardo’s work unique are the innovative techniques that he used in laying on the paint, his detailed knowledge of anatomy, light, botany and geology, his interest in physiognomy and the way in which humans register emotion in expression and gesture, his innovative use of the human form in figurative composition and his use of the subtle gradation of tone.

Leonardo’s studies in science and engineering are as impressive and innovative as his artistic work, recorded in notebooks comprising some 13,000 pages of notes and drawings, which fuse art and natural philosophy.

The exhibition provides the leonardians  machine and some paintings. The Maritime Musuem open its doors from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Secret meeting in Barcelona

Published by admin under Theatre

Now we know what Harvey Weinstein’s secret trip to Barcelona was all about last week. Weinstein was actually securing the participation of Penelope Cruz in the musical drama “Nine”, Chicago director Rob Marshall’s latest musical.  Nine will revolve around Bardem’s character; play director Guido Contini, who must juggle all of the women in his life while he puts on his masterwork. His lovers include his wife, his mistress, his film-star muse, his agent, and even his mother. The script is based on Fellini’s Eight and a Half.
Cruz is mulling over the role of Carla, Contini’s mistress
Penelope Cruz is currently in Barcelona for the shooting of Woody Allen’s new movie. It is about a painter entering a relationship with two American tourists. Conflict begins with the painter’s jealous ex-girlfriend. Unfortunately for Allen, the filming in Barcelona is not certain to be set; some residents in Barcelona are furious that their tax money is being used to fund Woody Allen’s new movie. Ten per cent of the new film by Woody Allen comes from the city of Barcelona and regional government, paid by tax payers. Seventy-five percent of Catalans think that the public investment is “excessive”. A local director said: “Along comes Woody Allen with all his money and success and they help him? I could make five films with his budget.” On the other side, others say the investment in The Barcelona Project of Allen will promote Barcelona in the same way that Lord of the Rings helped New Zealand.

Born Barcelona trendy area a history tour

Published by admin under Barcelona Tours

Born is that trendy area of Barcelona, full with alternative shops and restaurants. It´s coined by it´s cramped streets and gotic builings. The best to enter the Born area is the Street Argenteria, an old way that leads to the sea and the port. You will pass the Basilica Santa Maria that was built in the 13th century within only 75 years.

It´s one of the most beautiful symbols of the catalanian gotic. The Born area was a part of the nuclear center of the city in Middles ages. There were coming a lot of rich merchants into the city that have built their palaces which are to be found in the street Montcada. On the Passeig de Born there were also taking place jousts and processions during Middles Ages. If you want to live like a local in Born we have some apartments for you located directly in that area: MOJITO, a cosy apartment with balcony to the gotic street from 30 €/night/per. And the luxury alternative: SPUMANTE a trendy loft in a very nice building. Explore the Born area and enjoy your stay.
